Jack Buss and Andrew Peterson scored two goals each Monday night as Farmington cruised over Chaska, 6-2.
The Tigers (7-12-2, 4-6-1) added multiple goals in each period and scored on two of their first four shots.
“We played pretty well,” head coach Keith Revels said. “We opened things up in the second [by] putting 17 shots at the net.”
In that second period, Farmington held Chaska to six shots on goal and held a 32-26 advantage for the game. Victor Simones made 24 saves.
Buss opened the scoring with a power play tally at 6:44 of the first. Ryan Schoening earned the lone assist. Peterson scored 15 seconds later to extend the lead. Sean Brewers cut the Hawks deficit in half at 10:54 as the Tigers took a 2-1 lead to the first intermission.
Brady Roers tied the score just 1:38 into the second period with a power play goal. Buss scored his second of the game at 10:24. Dallas Tucker and Kevin Olund picked up assists on Buss’ game-winning marker. Jack Erickson scored roughly three minutes later with help from Grant Hauswirth as Farmington took a two-goal advantage to the second break.
Olund added a goal at 5:10 of the final period and Tucker picked up the only assist. 34 seconds later, Peterson added his second goal of the game. Blake Weinand and Jordan Lugowski picked up assists on the final goal of the contest.
After two-straight games of little time in the penalty box, Farmington spent 17 minutes in the sin-bin as a team including having to kill off a five-minute major in the third period. Chaska was 1-for-6 on the power play in the game.
“We are hoping to continue to play well defensively,” Revels said.
