Farmington broke a school record in the 400 freestyle relay and had 11 individuals and two other relay teams qualify for the championship finals at the Section 1AA swimming and diving preliminaries held Thursday in Rochester.
The relay foursome of Conner Kealy, Zach Holton, Aaron Lane and Christopher Kirchmann led the field and finished in 3:20.81 to eclipse the former school mark of 3:23.50 set in 2006 by Drew Dickison, Tom Fischer, Erik Huls and Devon Meeks.
Individual qualifiers for the championship finals (top eight):
200 freestyle: Holton and Kealy
200 individual medley: Lane
50 freestyle: Kirchmann
One-meter diving: Evan Carufel and Jonathan Bovee
100 butterfly: Holton
100 freestyle: Kirchmann and Kealy
100 backstroke: Lane
100 breaststroke: Nick Stephan
The 200 freestyle relay foursome of Mitch Haugen, Christian Bell, Bradley Dow and Daniel Berg and the 200 medley relay quartet of Stephan, Dahlton Bell, Tyler Lerbakken and Christian Bell also advanced.
