Nick Stephan (top) 1st 100 breaststroke
Aaron Cochnauer 1st 200 individual medley
Farmington scored seven firsts and delighted a Senior Night crowd with a 101-83 dual meet win over section rival Rochester John Marshall Monday night at the Dodge Middle School pool.
"Farmington had some great swims tonight," Tiger coach Ryan Hamnen said. "The boys really stepped up in their final home meet."
Six individuals and the 200 medley relay team of Aaron Lane, Nick Stephan, Tyler Lerbakken and Christian Bell provided the first place points for the winners."
Individual event winners included Zach Holton (200 freestyle); Aaron Cochnauer (200 individual medley); Evan Carufel (one-meter diving); Christopher Kirchmann (100 freestyle); Stephan (100 breaststroke) and Lane (100 backstroke).
Five more Tigers scored runner-up finishes in individual events: Conner Kealy (100 freestyle); Cameron Molnar (500 freestyle); Spencer Kabran (100 breaststroke); Kirchmann (50 freestyle) and Holton (100 butterfly).
Kealy took third in 200 freestyle as did Cochnauer in the 100 butterfly; Eric Schimmel in the 100 freestyle and Austin Kueck in the 500 freestyle
The meet was marred by an injury to John Marshall's Austin Cook who took an unfortunate fall in the one-meter diving competition and had to be removed from the scene via ambulance.
"He (Cook) is their top diver and one of their best swimmers," Hamen said. "He would have been Evan's (Carufel) top competition in diving and his absence affected their relay teams. Our thoughts and prayers go out to him for a rapid recovery."
Next on the Tiger agenda are the Missota Conference Championships slated for Saturday, Feb. 11, at Northfield Middle School.
