Taylor Meyer and Sofia Chadwick combined for 38 points to pace the Tigers to a 63-46 Missota Conference win over Holy Angels Tuesday night at Tiger Gym.

The victory raised Farmington's conference record to 4-7. The Tigers are 5-7 in their past 12 games after a shaky 1-9 start.

"It was a nice win for the girls," coach Sondra Chadwick said. "We shot well as a team and took care of the ball.

"We had three players score in double-figures and played some of the best interior defense that we’ve played all season."

The Tigers led just 9-5 six minutes into the contest but finished the half on 27-18 run to build a 36-23 lead at intermission.

Meyer scored 20 points to lead all scorers and also pulled down seven rebounds. Chadwick was right behind with 18 markers and a team-high seven assists.

Mariah Mincke also cracked double figures with 10 points and Abby Gallus chipped in with seven off the bench.

The collapsing Farmington defense limited Stars center Kate Banovetz to just five points, half of her season average.

The winners also helped themselves by taking care of the basketball, finishing with just nine turnovers. Included in their 47 percent shooting was a 4 for 6 night from behind the three-point arc.

Next up for the Tigers is a Friday trip to Northfield for a Missota Conference contest.

"We will work even harder this week to prepare for Northfield," Chadwick said. "This is an important game for us. We need it to improve our section seeding"

The Tigers edged the Raiders 47-44 when the two teams met last month at Tiger Gym.
