The Farmington High School Tiger Elite cheerleading team stepped onto a couple of big stages the past two weekends and brought home a pair of championships for their efforts.
On January 28th the girls traveled to the Roy Wilkins Auditorium in St. Paul where they won the Minnesota Cheerleading Coaches Association (MCCA) Novice Division I title.

Also at the state competition, Cheryl Wetterlind and Meagan Peterson of the FHS football Tiger Cheer Team were selected to the MCCA Honor Team of Excellence based on their display of leadership skills and academic excellence.
Farmington Elite Stunt Team-3rd Place
Last weekend the Tiger Elite team ventured to the Minneapolis Convention Center to compete in the 2012 WOW Factor Nationals and again led the field in the Novice Division I division.
In a addition to the national team title, a five-person Farmington entry--Alexis Presse, Ashley Fogarty, Jenna Hensley, Tori Crenshaw and Marissa Opp--ranked third in the Stunt Team competition.
The Tiger Elite team began its competitive season after the fall football season and started its schedule in November. It finished first in three straight Novice Division I competitions and then placed second and fourth in a pair at the Medium Varsity Division level before the state and national meets.
"It has been a great competition season and we are already looking forward to next year," coach Nancy Stein said.
Team members include Aleah Williamson, Alexis Preese, Ashley Fogarty, Brianna Leonard, Cassidy Jelen, Dominique Stokes-Sparks, Heather Torkelson, Jenna Hensley, Kelsey King, Marra Tietz, Marrisa Opp, Meagan Peterson, Raelyn Ruby, Sarah Burke, Tori Crenshaw and manager Ali Rydberg.
