Three unanswered goals in the fourth period provided the difference in Farmington's 8-7 win over Rochester Century Tuesday night at Tiger Stadium.

The victory was the third straight for coach Paul Sorensen's team and the fourth in five tries this season.

Sorensen said that playing the first game without co-captain Mitch Collier (broken leg) provided a challenge.

"Mitch was our emotional and spiritual leader," he said. "We were out of sorts and out of sync offensively without our go-to guy to steady us...We need to find offensive chemistry with the guys left standing. We can't replace Mitch but we need to patch in for him."

Matt Ackerman and had three goals and two assists and Trevor Howard finished with two goals and three assists to pace the Tiger offense. Corey Rudrud also scored twice for the winners. Brendon Berg provided the other Farmington score.

Longstickman Joey Todd and Kevin Clifton paced the defensive effort.

"They worked tirelessly all night long," Sorensen said.

Farmington closes its week with a road match at East Ridge on Thursday and then starts preparing for next week's opponents, Holy Angels and Chaska/Chanhassen
