Nadia Lorencz scored a pair of second place finishes at the Hamline Elite meet held Friday night at Hamline University in St. Paul.

The talented Tiger junior placed runner-up in both the long jump and triple jump. She also finished eighth in the 100-meter hurdles. She came into the meet ranked first in the state in all three events.

"The schedule was so tight for Nadia's three events that I think it took her out of her normal rhythm," coach Tom Hart said. "It was great for her to be selected for this event but there are a lot more important meets coming up."

Senior Alyssa Parco was the only other Tiger to receive an invite to the prestigious meet but she and her coach decided it  would be wise to sit out the competition.

"She tweaked a leg earlier in the week and it just wasn't worth aggravating it any further," Hart said. "There is a lot of season ahead of us."

Parco had qualified for the meet in both the 100-meter dash and 300-meter hurdles.
