Desiree Loftus
11 points, 5 rebounds vs. Rosemount
Farmington (0-4) edged closer to its first win of the young season but in the end turnovers and sub-par free throw shooting proved too much to overcome in a 38-34 loss Friday night at Rosemount.
The contest was a defensive struggle with the teams battling to a 19-19 halftime tie in the non-conference contest. The Tigers hurt their own cause, committing a costly 27 turnovers.
"We will be hard-pressed to win games if we don't take better care of the ball," coach Sondra Chadwick said.
Farmington also failed to take advantage at the foul line where they converted just five of 14 opportunities.
"We left many points on the table that could have made a difference in the game," Chadwick said.
Desiree Loftus had a career-night, leading the team in both scoring (11 points) and rebounding (5).
Sofia Chadwick scored eight points, dished out four assists and came up with four steals. Abby Gallus had six points and a trio of steals and Isis Alexander chimed in with six assists.
"On a positive note, we were in a position to win until the final horn despite all of our struggles," Chadwick said. "The girls played their best defense of the season. Overall, it was a great team effort."
Next up for the Tigers is a non-conference road game Tuesday, Dec. 13, at Lakeville South.
