Kiana Lord won the individual battle but New Prague took team honors in a 141.575-131.375 dual meet decision over the Tigers Tuesday night, Dec. 13, at the District Service Center.
"We didn't have a full squad," Tiger coach Lynn Bauman said, "and right now we seem to be stuck on our team score. We just haven't hit our routines yet. When we do it will be amazing!"
Lord took the all-around title for the second straight meet with a 35.3 point total. She finished first in vault and floor exercise, fourth on the balance beam and fifth on the uneven bars.
"Kiana had a good meet, especially considering she had two falls," Bauman said. "Her floor exercise was very good. She is really coming along there."
Kylie Wharton placed in two events, taking third on the beam and fifth in floor exercise. Tahra Eckert ranked third in all-around and placed fifth in vaulting. Kathryn Beckett finished fifth in the all-around standings.
"Tahra only had one fall," Bauman said, "and she was the only varsity girl to stick her beam routine."
Bauman also praised the effort of junior varsity performers Leah Rohde and Taylor Schmaltz.
"They both had an awesome night," she said.
The Tigers will have plenty of time to polish up their routines as their next meet isn't scheduled until Dec. 29 when they travel to Rosemount for a non-conference dual with the Irish.
