Alumni Tracker: Habeck chasing another title

2011 Tiger grad Katie Habeck has helped Concordia-St. Paul University keep its familiar ranking as the best NCAA Division II women's volleyball team in the land. Habeck ranks second in blocks and fifth in kills for defending national champion Golden Bears through three matches won by lopsided 3-0 scores.

2009 FHS female Athlete of the Year Kirstee Rotty totaled 77 digs in four matches for St. Olaf College in a volleyball tournament played in Tacoma, Washington over the weekend and earned a spot on the all-tournament team...Danielle Dombeck, a 2010 Tiger grad, is a junior defensive specialist for North Dakota State University.

Ex-Tiger Andy Pierskalla, who went on to play collegiate football at St. John's University, has taken an assistant coaching position at his college alma mater. Pierskalla, who previously had stints coaching at Maple Grove and Wayzata high schools, will work with the defensive line and the offensive scout team for legendary coach John Gagliardi.

Sabrina Siple of the FHS Class of 2008 who later played softball at Augsburg College in Minneapolis recently started graduate studies at that school where she is studying to be a physician's assistant....Melissa Langer, the former Tiger standout softball pitcher, is the assistant athletic director at Columbia Heights High School.

2012 FHS male Athlete of the Year Drew Hegseth is a freshman linebacker on the St. John's University football team...Derek Waldbillig a member of the Tiger class of 2008, is a senior running back at Bethel University...Another former Tiger, Bubba Friedlund of the class of 2011, is a sophomore offensive lineman for the Royals.

CJ Record (2011) is a redshirt freshman safety for Southwest State University in Marshall...Josh Zitzmann (2009) is playing football at Rochester Community and Technical College where he was a starter on the basketball team last winter...Dillon Pariseau is a sophomore offensive lineman at the University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire.

Former Tiger and state meet golfer Greg Werner is a senior on the Minnesota State, Mankato team that opened its fall season over the weekend at the Augustana Invitational in Sioux Falls...Drew Schaeppi is a junior defensive end at Minnesota State, Mankato...

 The football coaching staffs at Boeckman and Dodge middle schools in Farmington are full of former Tiger players: Jim Swedin, Brad Albano, Justyn Helgeson, Nick Davis, Jon Stock, Jeff Stulz and Brent Mahlstedt.

Tyler Jones
Twin brothers Carson and Tyler Jones of the class of 2006 were starting outfielders for the Dundas amateur baseball team that finished 30-16 this summer. Carson hit .309 and Tyler .274 for the Dukes who played in the Class B State Tournament in St. Cloud over the Labor Day weekend.

Former Tiger Kayla Seivert is a junior midfielder on the University of Wisconsin-Stout women's soccer team...Krystal Baumann, the second leading scorer in Tiger girls' hockey history will be playing closer to home this winter after having transferred from Vermont to Minnesota State, Mankato.
