Farmington's long string of quality performances came to a halt Friday afternoon in a 6-1 non-conference at South St. Paul.

The Packers swept the four singles matches in straight sets and won two of three doubles contests to drop Farmington's season record to 4-4.

The only Tiger point came at first doubles where the duo of Clare Padrnos and Lindsey Fairchild combined for a 6-0, 7-5 victory.

"They dozed off at the beginning of the second set, falling behind 0-3," coach Jack Olwell said. "But they came back to win the final three games to close it out."

The second doubles tandem of Jess Novotny and Beth Fairchild kept it close, losing 6-4, 4-6, 5-10.

"This was a well-played match that came down to a few points at the end," Olewll said.

The Tigers get back to Missota Conference play next Tuesday when they host Chaska at the Boeckman Middle School courts.
