The Tigers got off to a strong start against unbeaten Northfield (4-0) Thursday night but after their 25-21 triumph in game one, things went south in a 3-1 Missota Conference road loss.

The Raiders came back to edge their guests 25-23 in the second game before winning the final two 25-17 and 25-14.

"We started out playing games one and two like we did against John Marshall," coach Mike Woody said. "Then we reverted to our old ways of letting one mistake turn into four or five.

"Many of the girls are getting better about competing through bad stretches, but I still have a couple who haven't figured it out yet...We are physically executing better overall but we need to believe in what we are able to do."

Emma Fahning had another all-around productive night for the Tigers with a team-high 20 digs, 18 serve receptions and a pair of service aces.

Summer Skokan also put together good individual numbers, finishing with 19 serve receptions, 13 digs and a team-best five kills.

Rachel Eckert led in serve receptions with 34 and also totaled 11 digs. Ruthie Schmitt had 11 digs and 13 assists, one less than team-leader Mia Johnston. Kaylene Seurer led in blocks with five.

Tuesday Farmington (2-3) steps out of its conference schedule with a non-league road match-up with Hastings. Thursday the  Tigers are back at Tiger Gym against Red Wing.
