The gusty winds affected the play but even though North had the breeze at its back in the opening half the teams hit intermission locked in a scoreless tie.
The Panthers shocked their guests with the first score of the afternoon just 12 second into the second half.
"It was a defensive mental breakdown on our part," Carpentier said. "It was a goal out of nothing."
North added a score at the 60-minute mark and then tacked on another late in the contest to run its season record to a perfect 7-0.
The Panthers outshot the Tigers 18-11 for the game.
"We had a couple good chances in the second half," Carpentier said. "They just didn't go in."
Carpentier said one of the bright spots in the losing effort was the continued strong play of junior defender Izzie Ferm who drew the assignment of covering University of Minnesota recruit Simone Kolander.
"She (Kolander) is generally regarded as the best player in the state," Carpentier said, "and Izzie held her to just an assist on the third goal off a throw in. Not only that but they moved her all over the field trying to free her from Izzie. She was the best player on the field today."
The Tigers don't have much time to dwell on the loss as next on the schedule is a Missota Conference date Thursday night in Northfield.
"It's rivalry game plus the chance for us to put some real steam into our conference campaign," Carpentier said.
