The Spartans swept the three game-set by scores of 25-13, 24-26 and 25-12.
"It was bad night for us," Tiger coach Mike Woody said. "I am hoping having a week off between Thursday night matches will allow us time to heal."
After what Woody termed an "ugly" first game, the Tigers battled back to forge a 24-22 lead in game two before May went on a deciding 4-0 run to pull ahead 2-0.
Courtney Johnston led the team in kills with eight. Rachel Eckert recorded a team-high 22 serve receptions while Emma Fahning counted 15 receptions and 10 digs. Setter Mia Johnston had nine assists and Kaylene Seurer chipped in with a team-best five blocks.
The loss was the third in the last four matches for the Tigers and dropped their season record to the .500 mark at 9-9.
Thursday they resume Missota Conference play with a home match against Chaska (9-3).
