The Cougars won the Battle of the Cats by scores of 25-8, 25-10 and 25-15. The loss was the second straight for Farmington who saw its season record even up at 2-2.
"The match shouldn't have been as one-sided as it was," Tiger coach Mike Woody said. "We didn't show up mentally and made a ton of unforced errors.
"The girls learned a valuable lesson in how to prepare for a volleyball match. If they are not ready to compete and the other team is, things can get ugly fast."
The stat sheet mirrored the outcome of the match with the Tigers putting up uncharacteristically low numbers.
Defensively, Rachel Eckert led in serve receptions (26) and digs (19). Emma Fahning added 17 serve receptions and five digs. Summer Skokan chipped in with seven digs and Kayle Seurer added five blocks.
On the attack, Fahning had four of the team's 10 kills. Mia Johnston recorded six assists and Ruthie Schmitt registered the only Farmington service ace.
Thursday the Tigers tip off their Missota Conference season with a dual meet at Northfield.
