For the second time in three days the Tigers outshot the opposition but failed to score a goal.
Northfield, meanwhile, converted two of its eight shots on net to post a 2-0 Missota Conference win, Thursday, Sept. 30, in Northfield.
The Raiders victory kept them unbeaten in conference play at 4-0 and tied with Shakopee, a 1-0 winner over previously undefeated Holy Angels, for the league lead.
The loss dropped Farmington to 7-6 overall and 2-2 in the conference.
The Tigers outshot Northfield 14-8 but could not capitalize on any its scoring opportunities. Over the past two games Farmington holds a combined 34-12 advantage in shots but has nothing to show for it.
"We played well but didn't finish again," coach Rob Carpentier said, "and now we have another key injury to deal with."
Carpentier was referring to forward Ashley Kimmel who is out, possibly for the season, with a hip flexor strain.
"That's going to leave us very inexperienced at the forward position," Carpentier said. "Barring a miracle at that position we are going to continue to struggle to score."
