Girls Soccer: Tigers rally for tie at Shakopee

The Tigers overcame another sluggish first half to forge at 1-1 tie with Shakopee Tuesday, Oct. 4, at Vaughan Field in Shakopee.
Kelli Harstad's second half goal following crisp passes from Tia Jacoby and Devyn Alberts produced the draw that ended with two scoreless five-minute overtimes.
The Sabres led 1-0 at halftime thanks to a rebound shot in front of the Farmington goal midway through the opening period.
The Tigers best scoring chance in the first 40 minutes came just before intermission when Harstad bounced a shot off the crossbar.
"We were a lot better in the second half and overtime," coach Rob Carpentier said.
"We had chances for more but couldn't find the winner. We're still having trouble trying to score."
Farmington outshot Shakopee 6-1 in the extra sessions with Tiger goalkeeper Taylor Meyer coming up with a big save on the Sabers only shot on net
The Tigers own a 7-6-1 for the season and are 2-2-1 in the Missota Conference. Shakopee is 8-4-1 overall and 4-0-1 in league play.
