Girls Soccer: Tigers roll over Trojans

Alyssa Parco

Six different players scored goals as the Tigers blew by New Prague 7-0 in a Missota Conference game played Thursday, Oct. 7, in New Prague. The shutout was the second in three days for Farmington who blanked Chaska 4-0 on Tuesday.
The victory upped the Tigers record to 9-6-1 and 3-2-1 in the conference, good enough for third place, their highest-ever finish in the final league standings.
"Looking back, our inability to finish against Holy Angels and a key injury to Ashley Kimmel, who had to miss the Nortfhield and Shakopee games, really hurt us in the conference," coach Rob Carpentier said.
Carpentier had no regrets about the win at New Prague, however. As a matter of fact, he was more than pleased.
"We played very well," he said. "We had good focus and intensity from the get-go. We achieved our goal of playing 80 minutes with intensity."
Alyssa Parco scored twice for the winners with Kimmel, Gabby White, Elena Koch, Devyn Alberts and Kelli Harstad adding a goal apiece.
White, Kimmel, Parco, Harstad, Natalee Chromy and Laine Trowbridge each registered assists for the Tigers.
Farmington brings down the curtain on the 2010 regular season Saturday when it entertains Apple Valley at Tiger Stadium. A win against their Section 3AA rivals could vault them to third place in the section seedings; a loss could mean a fifth place seed.
"We could end up playing Apple Valley again, or maybe Rosemount, in the first round," Carpentier said.
After the weekend seeding process, section play begins Tuesday, Oct. 12, at the higher seeded schools.
