Farmington won four events and finished second in the team standings at the Missota Conference Championships held Saturday, Oct. 30, in Northfield.
Kaitlyn O'Reilly captured two individual gold medals, winning the 200 individual medley and 100 backstroke. O'Reilly also joined with Elizabeth Wolfe, Caitlin Kracke and Ellie Sundet to capture 200 individual medley relay honors.
The other Farmington first came from Wolfe who won the conference 100 breaststroke for the second consecutive year.
Host Northfield claimed the 2010 league title with 455 points, followed by Farmington 342, Shakopee 335, Chanhassen 325, Chaska 219, Red Wing 166 and New Prague 120.
The second place finish was a big jump in the standings for the Tigers who ranked fifth at the 2009 conference finals.
"There was an outside chance that we could have have beaten them (Northfield)," Farmington coach Jen Marshall said. "What really did us in was their strongest event. In diving they accumulated 60 points. That was just too much to overcome."
