The Tigers closed the books on their 2010 Missota Conference season with a pair of losses. Tuesday, Sept. 28, they dropped a tough 4-3 decision to Chaska and Thursday they fell to New Prague 6-1.
"We had some stirring comebacks against Chaska," coach Jack Olwell said, "but came up one match short. We had some good matches and I thought the girls showed the results of the hard work they have put in."
The Farmington singles wins came from Meghan Lindstrom at the second position and Megan Stivers at the fourth slot who ground out a long, three-set victory.
The third doubles tandem of Jessica Autey and Rachel Molitor also won a three-set marathon.
Melanie Kappes provided the lone Farmington point against New Prague, winning at third singles 6-4, 2-6, 6-4.
"Melanie never gave up," Olwell said. "She ran every ball down and refused to give in. It was her best match of the year."
The Tigers open Section 1 play Tuesday, October 5, against an opponent to be determined by a seeding process.
