Missota Conference favorite Northfield flexed its muscle in a 96-88 dual meet win over the Tigers Thursday, Sept. 30, at the Northfield Middle School pool.
"They are probably the team to beat in the conference right now," Tiger coach Jen Marshall said. "They're really stacked in a couple of events like diving and the fly."
Farmington won two of the nine individual events. Kaitlyn O'Reilly took top honors in the 200 medley and Elizabeth Wolfe led the field in the 100 breaststroke. O'Reilly, Ellie Sundet, Kirsten Kracke and Caitlin Kracke combined to win the 400 freestyle relay.
The Tigers also scored six runner-up finishes: Caitlin Kracke in the 50 and 100 freestyle; Kirsten Kracke in the 100 backstroke and 200 freestyle; Sara Kinter in the 500 freestyle and Abby Haugen in the 100 breaststroke.
"The girls performed well," Marshall said. "Not exceptional but right where I expect them to be at this point in the season.
"We've entered the 'dog days' of our season and are starting to get a little sluggish. But we're still on track for a great championship season. That's what we are focusing on."
