Jonathan Ellis pitched his second straight complete game to pace the Tigers to a 6-2 win over Chanhassen Monday afternoon at Tiger Field.
The victory halted a five-game losing skid for Farmington (2-5) and gave the locals their first Missota Conference win of the season.
"This was a big win to start a four-game week," Tiger coach Mike Winters said. "Their pitcher did a good job of changing speeds but we did a better job of putting the ball in play."
The visitors led 2-1 heading into the bottom of third when the Tigers erupted for three runs on RBI hits by John Stibal, Nick Newman and Johnny Dittman. Spencer Merle and Drew Hegseth also hit safely in the five-hit uprising.
A single by Ty Vincent and a run-scoring hit by John Stibal made in 5-2 in the fourth before a double by Jordan Lugowski and a single by Vincent closed the scoring in the sixth.
Ellis allowed just five hits and two eared runs in going the distance and picked up his first win of the season. Ellis has allowed just four runs in his last two starts.
Stibal hit safely in his seventh straight game, going 3-4 with a pair of runs batted in. Jake Baskerville, Vincent, and Newman each collected two hits.
The Tigers will be on the road the rest of the week: Tuesday at New Prague; Wednesday at Red Wing and Friday at St. Cloud Apollo.
