A week of practice after a season-opening loss to Lakeville North proved to be just what the doctor ordered as the Tigers rallied for a 12-10 win over Lakeville Monday afternoon at Tiger Stadium.
Team captains Haley Bradshaw (4), Ally Midboe (3), Adrienne Jolicoeur 2) and Jessica Erchul (2) accounted for 11 of the 12 Tiger goals. Rachel Welzin added the other score for the winners.
Bradshaw and Midboe also had assists as did Betsy Anderson and Michaela Tonsager.
"Our captains and other senior leaders really took control for us," coach Dan Pickens said. "We lost to them (South) in double overtime last year and they were ready for us and we still got them."

The offense did its job but Pickens said the defense and goalkeeper Maddie Kohlbeck also played major roles in the win.
"Kelli Harstad did a great job of leading the defense which made adjustments after South led at halftime," he said. "The defense shut down their top players who were scoring in the first half."
Kohlbeck came up with six key saves for the Tigers who were facing a 5-4 deficit at the halftime break.
"You have no idea how good this feels to have one of these games go our way," Pickens said. "We lost a bunch of one and two-goal games last year...The girls worked hard and they deserved it."
Pickens is hoping the good feeling continues Tuesday when the Tigers look for a second straight win, this one at Eastview.
