The loss was the first of the season for Farmington (5-1) and dropped Paul Harrington's squad a game behind the unbeaten Storm in the Missota Conference standings.
"It was a great battle for first place," Harrington said. "Both teams played hard and fought to the end. They just managed to score one more run."
The Tigers jumped on top 1-0 with an unearned run in the first but the Storm came right back with a two-spot in the bottom of the inning.
Allie Rice's two-run homer, her second in the last two games, gave the visitors back the lead in the third but once again Chanhassen answered with a pair of scores in the bottom of the inning.
Another home run, a solo shot by Ellen Wurst, re-tied the game in the fourth for the final Farmington run of the afternoon.
"We had at least a half dozen hard-hit balls that went right at their fielders," Harrington said. "Finding holes was difficult today. We couldn't get a break."
Chanhassen touched Tiger pitcher Ashley Betzold for 13 hits in handing the junior righthander her first loss of the season.
The Tigers don't have much time to dwell on the loss. Tuesday and Wednesday they entertain New Prague and Red Wing at Tiger Field and Friday they travel to Shakopee for another Missota Conference game.
