Ty Vincent
7th inning home run
Five games into the 2012 season Farmington appears to becoming a dome baseball team.
After opening the season with a 5-4 win over Hastings in the Metrodome the Tigers have now dropped three straight outdoors, including Thursday afternoon's 6-2 Missota Conference loss at Northfield.
"Not much to report," coach Mike Winters said. "We only had three hits...We only had two strikeouts so we put the ball in play and we only made two errors although they led to three of their runs.
"We continue to score runs late which should pay off for us soon. We need to keep that late-inning focus throughout the game."
The Raiders scored four runs off Tiger starter Spencer Merle over the first four innings and then added two more in the bottom of the sixth off reliever Ty Vincent.
As has been the case in most games this season, Farmington's offense didn't get on track until late. The Tigers scored their two runs in the top of the seventh, both on Ty Vincent's first home run of the season.
John Stibal and Drew Hegseth had the other Farmington hits. Stibal has now hit safely in all four games.
Farmington will be looking to snap its losing streak and pick up its first conference win of the season next Tuesday when it entertains Chaska at Tiger Field.
