Baseball: Murphy's Law in force in loss to AHA

John Stibal has his safely in 9 of 11 games this season
Just about everything that could go wrong did in the Tigers 11-2 Missota Conference loss to Holy Angels Monday afternoon at Donaldson Park in Richfield.

Four Tiger pitchers gave up a dozen walks. The offense managed just four hits and the defense chipped in with three errors.

"That pretty much tells the story," coach Mike Winters said. "I think we saved all of our miscues from last week and let them out against Holy Angels, a team we should have been able to compete with."

The Tigers scored first with a run in the second inning on a triple by Ty Vincent and a fielder's choice ground ball by John Stibal.

The Stars went ahead for good with four runs in the bottom of the inning and added four in the fourth and three more in the sixth to win going away.

The final Farmington run came in the sixth when Johnny Dittman doubled, moved to third on Jake Baskerville's ground out and scored when Jordan Lugowski reached on an error.

Spencer Merle started on the mound for Farmington and took the loss. Jonathan Ellis, Andrew Sharratt and Nathan Graham all pitched in relief.

The loss was the third straight for the Tigers (3-8) who entertain Northfield Thursday afternoon at Tiger Field.
