Hazeltine has hosted the US Open, the PGA Championship, the US Women's Open and the US Senior Open tournaments in its historic past.
"It was a fantastic experience playing there," coach Jon Holmes said. "It was an opportunity that these kids will look back on for years to come."
Missota Conference contender Chanhassen won the meet with a team score of 307, three shots better than runner-up Decorah (Iowa). Host Chaska Purple ranked third at 323, followed by New Prague 328, Prior Lake 332, Farmington 336, St. Croix Lutheran 337, Shakopee 345, Eastview 351 and Chaska Gold 362.
Senior Tony Lalani led the Farmington effort with a round of 82, two shots better than teammates Tommy May and Erik Holmstrom. Ryan Kelly checked in at 86, Grant Hauswirth 88 and Mitch Reed 92.
"The boys were awestruck by the course's size and magnitude at first," Holmes said, "but after a few holes I think they just settled in and played golf."
Friday the Tigers host the second Missota Conference meet of the season at Fountain Valley.
