Girls Lacrosse: Seniors lead the way in exciting 16-14 win at Holy Angels

Tiger coach Dan Pickens has said all season the key to his team's success is the leadership and performance of his senior class.

Both of those were on display Monday night as Farmington stretched its winning streak to three games in an exciting 16-14 victory.

The senior quartet of Haley Bradshaw, Adrienne Jolicoeur, Ally Midboe and Jess Erchul combined for 14 goals and five assists as the Tigers pulled their season record above the .500 mark (4-3) for the first time in the program's history.

Another senior, Betsy Anderson, also played a key role in the victory.

"Betsy did a great job of winning draws and getting the ball to our midfielders," coach Dan Pickens said. "Draws were essential in this game."

The Tigers led the Stars 9-8 in a high scoring first half and then continued to attack the goal in the second. The 16 goals tied the school one-game scoring record set earlier this season against Rochester Century..

Bradshaw continued to rack up the biggest numbers, scoring five goals and assisting on two others. Jolicoeur made it eight goals in her last two outings with four while Midboe had two goals and three assists for a five-point night. Erchul scored her second hat trick in the last three games.

Rachael Welzin and Shelby Klotz had the other Tiger goals.

"Ally broke out of her scoring drought and Haley, Adrienne and Jess continued to play wonderfully on offense," Pickens said. "They were double and triple-teamed all over the field."

Goalie Maddie Kohlbeck 13 saves
Goalkeeper Maddie Kohlbeck faced a barrage of shots (27) and posted her fourth win of the season with 13 saves.

"Maddie made some big saves down the stretch," Pickens said.

The Tigers will try to stretch their school-record winning streak to four games when they travel to Chanhassen. Farmington defeated the Stormhawks 10-4 when the teams met last week at Tiger Stadium.

"We will have to continue our hard work in practice if we want this success on the field to continue," Pickens said.
