The loss leaves the Tigers with a 6-5 record heading into tonight's (Tuesday) regular season finale against Rochester Mayo at Tiger Stadium.
"We played well but had some defensive lapses," Tiger coach Paul Sorensen said, "and again we played man down too many times for our liking...Our defensive anchor and leader, Matt Heinzerling-Wiese was also out with illness ."
The Stars jumped to a 4-1 first period lead and led 7-4 at intermission and maintained their two-to-three goal edges through most of the evenly-played second half.
In addition to the four-goal outbursts by Berg and Rudrud, Trevor Howard scored twice and Alex Rojesky and Chris Fitzgibbons each added a goal. Howard had two assists and Berg and Matt had Ackerman one apiece.
Goalkeeper Charlie Weierke picked up six saves on 21 shots.
"We feel confident going into tonight against Mayo that if we play with the intensity we did tonight and limit our man down situations that we will be successful," Sorensen said.
