For the second straight game the Tiger offense was stuck in neutral and the result was a 6-3 loss to Chaska/Chanhassen Thursday night at Tiger Stadium.

The Tigers had downed the Stormhawks 7-4 when the two teams met earlier in the season in Chaska.

The loss, its second straight, dropped Farmington's season record to 5-3 for the season.

The visitors scored two unanswered goals in the first period and then added another in the second to take a 3-0 led to the halftime break. The scoreless first half stretched to four consecutive periods the span the Tigers had failed to find the net.

"We are definitely mired in an offensive slump," coach Paul Sorensen said,  "not because of anything special the defense is doing. It's just a lack of ball movement and establishing our offensive sets. Ground balls and the hustle plays are killing us."

Chaska/Chanhassen netted its fourth goal early in the third stanza before Dan Block broke the Tiger scoring drought with 1:42 remaining in the period. But the Stormhawks responded with two goals in the next 51 seconds to re-take the momentum.

Jake Bauman scored for the Tigers late in the third period and Brendon Berg registered the only goal of the fourth to close out the night's scoring.

The Tigers had plenty of opportunities but Sorensen said his attackers made it comfortable for the opposing goalie.

"All of our shots were between his nipples and his hips, the worst place to put them," he said. "We didn't pick corners and when we did we missed the cage.

Charlie Weierke worked the goal for the Tigers and totaled seven saves.

The Tigers will be looking to get back in the win column next Tuesday when they host Owatonna at Tiger Stadium.
