Farmington coach Tom Hart had to do some lineup shuffling to accommodate a rash of injuries but the Tigers still managed a fifth place at the Missota Conference Relays held Tuesday in Shakopee.

The Relays are exactly what the title implies as each event is run in a relay format. There are no individual running events and the field events are scored on the basis of the combined efforts of three competitors per team.

Chanhassen topped the final team standings with 170 points, followed by Shakopee 158, New Prague 154, Northfield 131, Farmington 122, Red Wing 106, Chaska 98 and Academy of Holy Angels 78.

"The meet shows how deep your team is," Hart said,  "but with some injuries for us it really wasn't an indicator to me of where we will be in the conference meet later this month....

"There my No. 1 runners will score points, but it will be the number of places our other runners score in that meet will determine how well we do. The Missota is a tough girls conference for track.  I hope if we get healthy we can make a run for the title."

Farmington won four of the meet's 17 events, including the 4x400 relay, high jump, long jump and triple jump.

Sophomore Izzie Ferm had a hand in three of the firsts. She joined with Alyssa Parco, Alicia Hett, Megan Graham in winning the 4x400 in a season best 4:09.89.  Ferm, Parco and Nadia Lorenz teamed up to set a new meet record (48-5) in the long jump and she, Lorencz and Kathryn Beckett scored a win in the triple jump (100-6.25).

The other Tiger first came in the high jump where Bekah Lippert, Aly Grebner and Kelsey Lindell totaled a height of 14-2.

Ferm also hooked up with Jennifer Miller, Graham and Hett to score third place points in the 1600-meter sprint medley to complete her productive day.

The 800-meter sprint sprint medley quartet of Elizabeth Okikiolu, Kelli Elmer, Courtney Johnston and Graham placed fourth

The 4x1600 foursome of Hett, Alex Frost, Alexis Johnson and Sarah Cummings took fifth place as did the100-meter hurdles team of Lorencz, Jessica Arey, Beckett, Natalie Stark and the pole vault trio of Kayla Watne, Abby Haugen and Jordan Walls.

Thursday the girls will be back on the same track for the Shakopee Invitational.
