Northfield scored its fourth straight win with a 7-0 triumph over the Tigers Thursday afternoon at the Boeckman Middle School courts.

The Raiders moved to 4-1 in the Missota Conference standings while the Tigers fell to 0-5 in league play and 2-9 overall.

Northfield won all seven matches in straight sets with the best Tiger performance of the meet coming at second singles where Ben Cline played well in a 2-6, 5-7 (5) loss to Perry Tetreault.

"Ben's match was very good but had some disappointment," coach Jack Olwell said, "since he got to set point and missed an overhead by a few inches.

"He ended up in a tie-breaker where he hit a great smash to get back even but the Northfield player went to the fence, leaped and hit a miracle lob for the winning point."

The Tigers have two more shots to post that elusive first win in the Missota, next Tuesday at Chaska and next Thursday in the regular season finale against New Prague at the Boeckman courts.
