Boys Soccer: Sibley tames Tigers 5-0

Henry Sibley broke up a scoreless game with two goals midway through the first half on the way to a 5-0 non-conference win over Farmington, Monday, Sept. 27, in West St. Paul.

"We played the first 10 minutes well and had numerous scoring opportunities," Tiger coach Julian Buss said, "but after they got the first two goals we didn't play our game."

Buss noted his team did manage to keep the Warriors off the board through the middle 40 minutes of the contest before they racked up three more goals over the final 20 minutes, including two in the final 4:39.

"To Sibley's credit, they were able to take advantage of direct kicks, placing the ball just out of the reach of our goalie," Buss said. "They also had an outstanding flip throw that allowed them to virtually turn any throw-in into a scoring opportunity."

The loss was the third straight for Farmington who saw its season record dip to 4-6.

The Tigers have two Missota Conference games on the schedule this week: Tuesday, Sept. 28, versus Holy Angels at Tiger Stadium and Thursday at Northfield.
