Ashley Kimmel scored the game's only goal on a pin-point pass from Devyn Alberts late in the first half to give the Tigers a hard-earned 1-0 win over Park of Cottage Monday, Sept. 13, at Tiger Stadium.
The victory against the perennially tough Wolfpack raised Farmington's season record to 4-3. Park stands at 3-2-1.
Junior goalkeeper Taylor Meyer recorded her fourth shutout of the season for the winners whose all four victories have come on whitewashes.
"The girls played well but not as well as they did against Rosemount last week (a 2-0loss)," coach Rob Carepntier said. "We should have scored more goals but their goalie is a University of Minnesota recruit and she was outstanding.
"Still, we found a way to win and we made them impotent at the end when the game was on the line. Once again our team showed its mental toughness."
Carpentier said that the major significance of the non-conference victory was that it came against a program with a solid winning tradition.
"It's always nice to beat a 'name' program," he said. "It helps us become one of them ourselves."
