FHS girls soccer coach Rob Carpentier got the effort and performance he wanted from the Tigers Thursday, Sept. 9, in Rosemount. He just didn't get the win go with them.
The Irish prevailed 2-0 to stay unbeaten (5-0-1) for the season while Farmington slipped to 3-3.
"That's the best game we've played since I've been here," Carpentier said. "The defense especially played great. They (Rosemount) only got two shots in the box the entire game.
"We couldn't finish. When we pick it up offensively we could go a long way because we are very solid in every other aspect of the game."
Each team managed a dozen shots on goal in the contest with Tiger goalie Taylor Meyer picking up 10 saves.
The Tigers continue their tough non-conference schedule with a home game Monday night, Sept. 13, against Park of Cottage Grove. They kick off their Missota Conference season two nights later with a home contest with Red Wing.
