Devyn Alberts and Ashley Kimmel led the offense with a goal and an assist apiece and the defense allowed just three shots on goal as Farmington (2-0) remained perfect in Missota Conference play with a 2-0 victory Tuesday, Sept. 21, at Chanhassen.
"We started flat again," coach Rob Carpentier said. "Chanhassen worked hard early and we didn't match that until we got that first goal. Then we picked up our game."
The goal came from Alberts on a a left-footed shot from 10-yards out after taking a long pass from Kimmel with three minutes remaining in the first half.
The Tigers totally dominated possession in the second half and outshot the Storm 21-3for the game but managed just one more goal on a shot from the box by Kimmel from a pass from Alberts.
"We didn't finish well," Carpentier said, "and that's got to change."
The Tiger defense and goaltender Taylor Meyer had another productive day, posting their sixth shutout of the season.
"It was a job done and now it's on to the next one on Thursday in Shakopee," Carpentier said "If we want to win the conference we have to be successful there."
