The Tigers continued their early season travels with a split of road matches last week. Tuesday, Aug. 31, coach Mike Woody's squad survived the long bus ride to Austin and came home with a 3-1 win. Two nights later, things didn't go as smoothly in a 3-0 loss at ninth-ranked Lakeville South.
In Austin the visitors rallied for a 25-21 win in the first game only to lose game two 25-14. The Tigers won the final two contests 25-19 and 25-18.
Katie Habeck had another productive night for the winners, totaling 16 digs, 13 kills and four blocks.
Jordan Bridges was also a major contributor with six blocks and six kills. Haylee Lundquist and Mia Johnston led in set assists with 12 and eight respectively. Brook King chimed in with eight digs.
The Cougars got the better of the play in all three games on Thursday, posting 25-19, 25-13 and 25-11 wins.
Good defense limited Habeck to eight kills, although the 6-2 middle hitter had a solid night defensively with 15 digs. Laura Steege chipped in with four kills and Lundquist had a team-high five assists.
