Chanhassen won the last race of the night, the 400 freestyle relay, by .15 of a second to hand the Tigers (2-1) their first dual meet loss of the young season Thursday, Sept. 10, at Chanhassen Middle School East.
"It was an amazing meet," Tiger coach Jen Marshall said. "The lead went back and forth with every event. The relays were really fun to watch."
Farmington won five of the 12 events in its first-ever competition against the Storm, one of two new members of the Missota Conference. Chaska also joined the league this fall.
Kaitlyn O'Reilly was involved in three of the Farmington blue ribbon performances. She won the 200 individual medley and 100 butterfly and joined with Kristin Kracke, Elizabeth Wolfe and Biff Donner to claim the 200 medley relay.
Wolfe and Sara Kinter provided the other Farmington firsts; Kinter in the 500 freestyle and Wolfe in the 100 breaststroke.
Three Tiger swimmers turned in runner-up finishes: Ellie Sundet in the 100 and 200 freestyle; Kracke in the 100 backstroke and Cora Ruzicka in the 100 butterfly.
Sarah O'Reilly scored third place points in the 200 and 500 freestyle as did Nikki Cayard in the one-meter dive; Kracke in the 50 freestyle, and Donner in the 100 freestyle.
Despite the loss, Marshall was upbeat about her team's effort and the outlook for the rest of the season.
"We're looking for great things to come this season," she said.
The girls have two meets on tap this week. Tuesday, Sept. 14, they entertain Minneapolis Edison at the Dodge Middle School pool before resuming their Missota Conference schedule on Thursday with a trip to Shakopee.
